Description
Thanks to its flat surface, the knife sharpening stone makes it easy to maintain an optimal and long-lasting sharpening angle across the entire length of your blade. Compared to our household sharpening steel, this stone allows you to be more precise in the angles and parts of the blade you are working on. Sharpening a knife with a sharpening stone helps to achieve a higher quality sharpening that is gentler on the blades. You will then be able to enjoy a sharper blade for longer, while ensuring that your blade retains its cutting power.
Using a Nogent*** knife sharpening stone is the most obvious way to maintain the edge of your knife. Our stone is soft but also hard enough to restore your blade to its original sharpness.
It is important to know that knives need to be sharpened, regardless of the quality of the blade. This is essential for restoring sharpness and optimal cutting quality. The purpose of sharpening is to remove the dulling effect that a blade undergoes after several hours of cutting.
Instructions
1- Soak the stone in water for 5 to 10 minutes. Continue to add water during sharpening.
2- Move the knife blade across the stone in both directions, moving away from you and then back towards you, maintaining an angle of 15 to 20° and applying light pressure.
3- Start at the tip and work your way towards the base of the blade.
4- Repeat the process on the other side of the blade.
5- Repeat these steps until the desired sharpness is achieved.
6- Rinse the stone and the blade.
