The dishes arrive and table knives take over. They cut meat, accompany vegetables and share cheese or pizza. At Nogent***, each profile serves a purpose, with a handle chosen for the feel you enjoy. Solid wood or polypropylene: tools made in Biesles for ordinary meals and the tables where everyone is happy to stay a little longer.
Cutting knowledge brought to the plate
A table knife works at the rhythm of the meal. It should find its place in the hand, then let the diner enjoy the food. Blade shape, serrations and handle all contribute to that feeling. The right knife does not ask you to relearn a familiar action or give the tool more attention than the meal.
Our XC50CrMoV15 stainless steel blades are made in the Biesles workshops, Haute-Marne. The work on the edge is paired with several handle materials. Nogent Iconic uses solid French wood, Nogent Daily uses polypropylene, and Silhouette uses a 97% bio-based material derived from wood fibers and vegetable oil. Each family brings a different feel and care routine. Choosing therefore involves more than colour: it begins with the meals you share and the washing-up that follows them.
Choose for the food and the way you host
The steak knife has a pointed 11 cm blade with double serrations for meat and fish. The round-tipped table knife, also 11 cm long, has 3 mm serrations for everyday dining. Silhouette offers a slender profile and fine 1 mm serrations. These are different approaches within the same table setting.
The cheese knife has a 12.5 cm blade with 3 mm serrations. The pizza knife combines a rounded shape with an edge suited to the base and topping. These tools complement one another according to the dishes; they do not all need to appear at every meal.
Sets of four equip several places or make a useful gift. Wooden handles are washed by hand, while dishwasher-safe versions suit another routine. Matching or mixing materials is a matter of taste. What matters is a table where the tools are used and everyone enjoys staying, whether the meal is quick or carries on into the afternoon.
